In recent months, we've all done our share of wish-we-were-here dreaming. Now, we're a hair's breadth away from our green light fantasies. To celebrate, we've got a clutch of new arrivals for your perusal. In Europe, we’ve added a 16th-century manor in Oxfordshire, a glamourised farmhouse in Puglia and a harbour-side villa on a Tuscan isle. For members across the pond, there's a Seventies-inspired stay in Santa Barbara and a sand-skirting resort on Grand Cayman. On your marks…
Cotswold stay Double Red Duke is the latest triumph for hoteliers Sam and Georgie Pearman, the duo behind the Lucky Onion and Country Creatures hotels. When renovating the honey-hued manor, they enlisted a team of heritage craftsmen to create an Arts and Crafts haven of printed fabrics, patterned wallpaper and one-off antiques. Hawksmoor chefs Richard Turner and Richard Sandiford head up the restaurant, split between a brick-lined dining room and sun-trapping orangery.
Standing since the 17th century, former farmhouse Masseria Calderisi knows a thing or two about Puglia's past. You can bed down in historic stables or stargaze from the Tower Suite, once used to spot invading Saracens. You won't be asked to heft a plough, however – you'll be too busy rotating between the roof terrace, cocktail bar and private beach. The masseria's rustic soul still shines through, whether you're strolling in the citrus groves or dining at the farm-to-fork restaurant.
La Guardia overlooks the harbour on Giglio, the second largest island in the Tuscan archipelago. For the interiors, the designers chose an earthy and organic palette that plays second fiddle to the shifting blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea, which passes from shade to shade with the changing light. Giglio is fairly compact, meaning you can explore mediaeval castellos, pine forests and sandy beaches in a single day.
Palihouse Santa Barbara brings lashings of vintage charm to the city's Presidio neighbourhood. The furnishings borrow from Ivy League clubhouse and Sunset strip alike, with a Seventies spin thrown in for good measure. In the wrong hands it would be a fatal combination, but here it's oh so right. Post up by the palm-flanked pool or sip Funk Zone wines in the courtyard café, where the walls are draped in wisteria.
Steps from Seven Mile Beach, Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa lays claim to a prime spot on Grand Cayman's west coast. The name is a nod to the blazing sunsets that can be seen from the rooms, which are dressed with furnishings inspired by the local marine life. Spend your days spotting turtles and blue iguanas offshore before treating yourself in the sprawling spa and trio of beachfront restaurants.
